Nick Sokoloff is a director who doesn’t say cut until he’s in the edit bay.

An editor turned director, Nick is passionate about connecting with people and telling stories that capture their desires and passions on screen. His eye for framing and composition merges with his keen editing IQ, which developed early on in his career cutting trailers for studios such as Disney, Paramount, and Universal, followed by more time spent cutting docu-series in the action sports world for brands like Red Bull and the World Surf League. Nick understands that a compelling story can be told successfully at multiple lengths. His latest short “Osmosis” chronicles the dichotomy of security guards working at the Met and other New York Museums by day and being dedicated artists by night. In addition to screening at FLUX in 2023, it has won and been nominated for several awards including, but not limited to, the Clio’s, The One Show, AICP, Shots, Cannes Lions, and is a Vimeo Staff Pick.
